Santa Elena Area:

Santa Elena is the small bustling town where you will find a variety of dining options, bars and souvenir shops.

Morphos:
Morphos restaurant is a favorite amongst visitors as well as locals. They offer a wide array of menu choices from steaks, pasta, chicken, sandwiches, casados and more are all possible at Morphos.  

Kaffa’s:
Just below the main center of Santa Elena, Kaffa’s offers fine coffee and international menu items in a creative atmosphere.  You choice of a normal table or a floor table where you will find comfortable cushions, a truly relaxing atmosphere. Often there is live music on Thurday and Friday nights.

Tree House:
More than just a fine dining place think about us as an interesting dining tour experience, once you are here you'll enjoy everything: the menu, the staff, the decoration, the forniture and of course, the amazing Higuerón tree. Everything is memorable!

Cerro Plano Area: 

This is the flat region between the village of Santa Elena and the Monteverde Reserve.  You will find some of the nicest areas in this section as well as more upscale dining choices.

 

Flor de Vida:
Found on the road near Cerro Plano, Flor de Vida offers the most choices to vegetarians. With a tasteful design and friendly service Flor de Vida is one of Monteverde’s best choices in dining.

 

Moon Shiva
If you are craving Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine Moon Shiva is the place for you.  Some nights there is live Flamingo music and other nights there is a movie. Besides the great food, the Moon Shiva restaurant has a great atmosphere on any night.

Dulce Marzo
Reminiscent of a small European Café, Dulce Marzo has the most outstanding baked goods in the region as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Dulce Marzo is a refreshing choice and has a creative menu and specialty items. 

 

Sophias
Sophias is considered one of Monteverde’s premier fine dining locations with outstanding Nuevo Latino cuisine, fine wines and other specialty drinks. 

 

De Lucia's
De Lucia’s offers one of the widest menus in the area with an emphasis on meats and Chilean wines but with seafood and vegetarian options as well.  De Lucias is a great choice for couples, families or weary travelers in need of a great meal for a reasonable price.

Near the Monteverde Reserve:

Monteverde does not really have a central area but Stellas Bakery, Casem, Café Monteverde and Tramontes are all located in what is considered downtown Monteverde.

 

Stellas Bakery
One of Monteverd'es longest running establishments specializing in fresh baked goods, made to order sandwiches, milk shakes and more.  The bagel sandwiches are so good!

Tramonti’s
Despite being in the remote Cloud Forest of Monteverde Costa Rica, Tramonti’s manages to assemble an outstanding menu specializing in traditional Italian foods.  From Antipasti, Pizza, fresh pasta’s seafood and outstanding wines Tramonti’s sets the standard in Monteverde.
